My partner Scott found this Chinese proverb in a fortune cooking after a meal in Sydney's Chinatown (we were living there at the time- I had a nine month contact on a TV show). He turned to me and lamented that this was half our problem we just didn't sit still long enough to make a nest.

When the opportunity arose to open a shop in Brisbane the Chinese proverb seemed to make sense. There would be no way we'd be able to uproot so easily if I owned a shop and the time seemed right to put down some roots and so Nesting Bird Interiors was born.

Isn't it funny how you start a business and without even trying it becomes a reflection of who you are as a person and all the experiences you've had in your life up to that point.

There was also summitry in the fact that Nesting Bird is upstairs and the boutique downstairs is called Miss Mouse.
